Japan Brewers Cup 2016

初日の29日(金)に行ってきました！開場と共に入場！あいにくの雨でしたが結構来場者がいた模様。

横浜の大桟橋ホールを貸し切りで行われており、結構なお金が掛かっている印象。

 

基本的に会場内はスタンディング。フードを出す店舗も多く、やっぱりありました、、、、

 

必殺、「ビールはソーセージと一緒」

ドイツのイメージって根強い。まぁ確かに合うけどね！

そして、本題のビールですが海外ブランドも多く散見できました。

日本での輸入者がブースを出していて代理出展といった模様。

今更ながら初めてヤッホーブルーイングさんの青鬼のタップを飲みました！やっぱり缶とは微妙に違う！うまい！

大阪で青鬼タップで出してる店って多分ないのでは？とにかく新鮮でした！

パンプキン味、ローズマリー味、みかん味、目につくもの全てを飲み泥酔で帰りましたとさ♪

The Japan Brewer’s Cup Festival was held at Yokohama’s Osanbashi Hall on January 29-31^st this year. Entrance was 500 yen, and once inside we were able to enjoy tasters and glasses of Japanese craft beer for as little as 300 yen/glass.

We arrived shortly after opening on the first day, a bit wet from the heavy rains! It felt great to get inside and see this: about 30 breweries lined up and ready to start pouring for us. There appeared to have been a lot of planning put into the event.

No seating, but plenty of tables were lined up so visitors could put down their brews between bites of some of the food on offer (yakitori, karaage, and lots of sausage).

While Japan-made beers (from brewmasters both Japanese and foreign) were the star, there were plenty of American beers on tap as well – Elysian, Two Beers, and Sierra Nevada, to name a few.

We were especially happy to taste some of Yo-Ho Brewing’s Aooni IPA on tap for the first time – a real treat, and certainly one of the best IPAs in Japan (and possibly available at your local Lawson!)

We also sampled Japanese beers made with pumpkin, rosemary, coconut, mikan, and more - after feeling like we had imbibed a 5-course liquid meal, we went home satisfied and excited about the future of craft beer in Japan.
